Membership of 'the friends of therfield heath'

The Friends of Therfield Heath is a registered charity (number 1192972) voluntary group working alongside the Conservators of Therfield Heath and Greens to promote and encourage the use of, and access to, Therfield Heath, including organising events, raising awareness of the related bye laws and regulations and encouraging conservation protection, and improvement of the natural environment, and improved facilities for the users.

The funds we raise will be aimed directly at working with the Conservators to meet our objectives of improving the Heath for all users, including through a number of initiatives to assist in the maintenance of this very special resource.

Membership entitles you to:
  • Regular newsletters,
  • Free entry to some member events
  • Discounted fees for any payable events such as talks, led walks on the Heath, special events
  • Information about local conservation and environmental issues.
The funds created will be used to benefit Therfield Heath directly either via Friends initiatives or by supporting the Conservators of Therfield Heath and Greens.

We've been working with a number of the incredibly talented people we have in town and in the region, and offer a full programme of events, ranging from photography, wildflower walks, bat and bird box building, butterfly identification, bird ringing, quiz nights, and hopefully even stargazing!  One particular initiative will go directly to assisting the Conservators manage the heath long term by tracking changes over time.  We're hoping that we'll be able to offer greater value as the year goes on, so please keep an eye on our website and Facebook page.
